Hot Dog Van

Where's the Hot Dog Van

Cedric Walnut Squirrel ran a hot dog stand. When the children were playing near by or walking home from school they could smell the hot dogs a mile away. Their tummies would rumble and they would run to the stand as fast as they could to get a yummy hot dog.

The stand was always surrounded with happy children talking and laughing and enjoying their hotdogs together.Cedric was a very clever squirrel and invented lots of things for the village. He wanted to make his stand even better so asked the children if they had any ideas.
“Put a picture of you on the wall” and
“Make chocolate hotdogs”,
they said but Cedric wanted a really really great idea.

One day Freya Chocolate was busy eating her hotdog when she said
“I can't wait for us all to go to Sea Breeze Cape next week”,
“I wish you had a Hot Dog stand there too Cedric Walnut”.
“We can't take these with us they will get too cold”.
Cedric listened to what Freya had said and had a brilliant idea,
“I know exactly how I can make my stand better”, he thought to himself.

The following day the children rushed to the stand after school but it was closed, and the next and the day after that. The children were so disappointed they could not have their favourite hot dogs.
“Why has it been closed so long”?
Freya asked her father and Elenor Hedgehog the village baker. They both just smiled at each other and said
“I wonder”.

The next week was their planned trip to Sea Breeze Cape. The children went straight to the beach and were having a wonderful time playing in the sea and on the sand. They had worked up quite an appetite.
“I'm hungry”, they said.
All of a sudden there was a familiar smell.
“Could it be”? said Freya,
“It is, its hot dogs” cried Piers the Bear.
The children raced up the sun dunes and saw a beautiful, colourful van parked on the grass.

The bright yellow van had a big sign on the stripped roof saying
“Hot Dogs”.
The children could not believe their eyes. They ran up to the van and a very familiar face poked his head out the window.
“Hello children would you like a hotdog”?
said Cedric in his happy voice.

Credric explained to the children how he had changed his Hot Dog stand to a van so that they could have hot dogs at home or at the Sea Breeze Cape too.
“I can sell them anywhere now” he said.
The children were all very happy to hear this and of course eating their hot dogs.
“I think they taste even better by the sea”, said Freya with a smile on her face.

Cedric was very happy too. And he was very pleased to see all the children and how happy they were to see him.

The End.
